More about your role

As Assistant Service Manager, you'll support the Service Manager in the day-to-day management of our Supported Housing services, ensuring services are delivered in line with contractual, legal and organisational requirements. You'll lead and support front-line teams to provide high-quality, customer-focused services that maximise positive outcomes for customers with complex and enduring support needs.

You'll be responsible for ensuring effective support planning, risk assessment and safeguarding practices are in place and accurately recorded. Working closely with your team, you'll drive performance against agreed targets, budgets and service objectives while maintaining high standards of housing management, health and safety compliance and customer engagement. You'll build strong relationships with commissioners and partner agencies, identify and implement best practice and support service growth opportunities through operational input into tenders and service development.

Essential Criteria

  • Experience managing or supervising teams within a Supported Housing environment.
  • Demonstrable experience supporting customers with complex and enduring support needs, including safeguarding responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of tenancy management, support planning and relevant regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Experience monitoring service performance, KPIs and budgets to achieve operational targets.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with commissioners, stakeholders and partner agencies.

You're an experienced housing or support professional with a strong understanding of Supported Housing services and the challenges faced by vulnerable customers. You have a proven track record of leading and developing teams, driving performance and maintaining high standards of service delivery.

You'll be confident managing safeguarding concerns, risk assessments and housing management responsibilities while remaining resilient and solution-focused in challenging situations. A collaborative approach, strong stakeholder management skills and a commitment to continuous improvement will help you succeed in this role.
