About the Role

We are looking to recruit a Linux Engineer on a permanent basis, reporting to the Database Engineering Manager within the Cloud function. The role is based in Preston, 2 days a week on site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for Unix infrastructure on-premises and Linux environments in the cloud.
  • Design and engineering build of Linux/Unix/Storage solutions.
  • Lead design of less complex technology solutions aligned to business requirements and user-led designs.
  • Perform comprehensive technical (unit and integration) testing of new solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience working with Linux, Unix and SAN solutions.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Platforms such as AWS, Azure and GCP is desired.
  • Experience with infrastructure hardware and networking is advantageous.
  • Experience in a similar role; a track record within a database environment is desired though not essential.
