Please note: This is a hybrid working role, you will be asked to attend a regional office 1 day per week and our Leeds office on a Thursday 1 day per week. The remaining days you will work from home or be required to travel to our sites which are situated in the Midlands & North England. A car allowance is included in this role to cover travel.

More about your role:

  • As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you'll support the commercial management of live and upcoming residential development sites across the Midlands and North of England, working closely with experienced Quantity Surveyors and the wider team.
  • Your responsibilities will include:
    • Assisting with cost control from early-stage budgeting through to final accounts
    • Supporting tendering processes and subcontractor procurement
    • Checking and processing monthly valuations, cost reports, and financial forecasts
    • Working closely with Construction and Technical colleagues to ensure projects remain commercially sound
    • Building collaborative relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve best value

This is a fast-paced and varied role offering excellent exposure to the full project lifecycle. You'll work with all departments to support tight cost control and timely delivery at every stage. This position offers a good degree of autonomy and responsibility where contributions are seen and encouraged.

More about you:

You'll already have experience in a commercial role within the construction or housebuilding sector, ideally with exposure to residential developments or a main contractor environment. We're looking for someone who:

  • Has a foundational understanding of cost control, reporting, and subcontractor engagement
  • Is keen to learn and develop technically and professionally in a fast-paced environment
  • Is organised, detail-focused, and able to manage multiple tasks to multiple deadlines
  • Communicates confidently and works well as part of a collaborative team
  • Is working toward (or interested in working toward) MRICS; this is beneficial but not essential
