We are looking to recruit a Linux Engineer on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Database Engineering Manager, this is a key role within the Cloud function.
The Linux Engineer will be accountable for the Unix infrastructure on-premises and Linux environments in the cloud. On a daily basis, you will be responsible for the design and engineering build of Linux / Unix / Storage solutions. You will lead on the design of less complex technology solutions, aligned to business requirements and user-led designs. In addition, you will perform comprehensive technical (unit and integration) testing of new solutions. This role is based on site 2 days a week in Preston.

The successful candidate will have experience in a similar role. Experience of working with Cloud Platforms and a track record of working within a database environment is desired though not essential. Experience of working with Linux, Unix and SAN Solutions. Knowledge of Cloud Platforms such as AWS, Azure and GCP are desired. Previous experience working with infrastructure hardware and networking would be advantageous.
