More about your role
As a Disrepair Solicitor, you will provide specialist legal support to help resolve and manage housing disrepair claims brought against the business. You will manage your own litigated caseload, provide clear and risk-based advice, and work closely with colleagues across the Disrepair team and wider business. You will anticipate emerging legal challenges, help improve business processes and deliver training that builds colleagues' understanding of disrepair claims and their impact on the organisation.
Please note: While this role is primarily home-based, there may be occasional travel required to our regional hubs in London, Leeds and Preston.
Essential criteria
- Qualified as a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive in England and Wales, with post-qualification experience in housing disrepair litigation.
- Extensiveexperience of managing disrepair and related matters, including drafting, negotiation, interpretation and resolving disputed issues.
- Demonstrable experience of managing a litigated housing disrepair caseload and providing authoritative, risk-based legal advice.
- Evidence of assessing complexinformation, identifying legal and business risks, and recommending appropriate action.
- Experience of presenting technical legal information to audiences with different levels of knowledge and working collaboratively with colleagues across a wider organisation.
- Subject to the needs and demands of thebusiness you will be required to attend Court to represent the business in litigated matters.

You will be an experienced housing disrepair legal professional who can manage competing priorities accurately and work effectively under pressure. You can work independently while remaining a collaborative member of the wider Legal team, building productive relationships with colleagues and external parties. You will be comfortable translating complex legal information into practical advice and will bring a flexible, customer-focused approach to your work.
