The Client & Opportunity:

Our client is a well-respected global firm of chartered surveyors & real estate consultants which holds a national network of offices and provides comprehensive property advice to public and private sector organisations throughout the UK and beyond.

Our client has one of the largest rating teams in the UK as well as having the largest dedicated Investor Services (Empty Rates) Team and boasts a strong Blue-Chip client base that is continually growing with a strong pipeline of work.

Job Description: A senior-level rating surveyor is required, who can specialise in Empty Rates at director/partner level – to work closely within an established national Rating team to help deliver high-value workload and facilitate further business growth across the UK.

The role may be based out of one of several regions, ideally London, Birmingham, or Manchester but other regions such as Bristol, Leeds or Newcastle are also an option. The successful candidate shall currently:

  1. Hold relevant experience to join the clients’ Investor Services (Empty Rates) Team
  2. Be at Director or Partner level.
  3. Have experience dealing with and be comfortable in front of Investor, Developer, Landlord type clients – this is essential.
  4. Have the ability to grow the client base and their own work.
  5. Hold MRICS and/or IRRV qualification – preferable, but not essential.
  6. Have experience of being involved in case work & client relationship/management.
  7. Be knowledgeable of relevant Case Law and Legislation
  8. Be experienced in taking cases to Valuation Tribunal

Pre-Requisites:

  1. Excellent technical knowledge including but not limited to relevant legislation and case law.
  2. Ability to value a broad range of property types.
  3. Commerciality
  4. Excellent negotiation skills
  5. Ability to work on own initiative whilst being an excellent team player.
  6. IT proficient, including Microsoft Office
  7. Strong organisational skills, including efficiency, using your own initiative and ability to work to tight deadlines.
  8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail, and a commitment to excellence
  9. Experience of developing and maintaining strong client relationships

Salary & Benefits include:

  1. A highly competitive base salary of circa £100,000 per annum (D.O.E.)
