An associate or director of business rates is required for the Newcastle office of a well-respected national consultancy. The Business Rates team provides a comprehensive service including but not limited to Appeals, Rate Payment, Empty Rates Mitigation and Rate Audit for their national team, across the UK.

Due to the continued success, the National Team is looking to expand the national service line across the Newcastle & North East region by appointing a highly experienced, MRICS/FRICS qualified and credible rating professional.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • To focus on both occupier & landlord instructions through appeals and empty rates mitigation.
  • To build on the existing client base in the North East and meet the personal targets set to be proactive, enthusiastic and driven in providing the best rating advice to our clients.
  • To be a team player working to ensure the Business Rates department meets their stated objectives.
  • To help draft marketing material such as case studies and brochures for pitches to maintain a high professional profile and be continually alert to business opportunities.

Personal skills profile:

  • Experience & ability to make and maintain contacts for business development.
  • Promote the professional image of the organisation effectively.
  • To formulate and implement business strategies with the Regional and Office Head.
  • To motivate, direct and delegate when appropriate to fully utilise the software packages used by Rating Surveyors.
  • Competent in the skills required as a professional Rating Surveyor and to perform this function to a high standard.

Qualifications/education required:

  • MRICS, IRRV or RSA qualified.
  • 4 years or more experience in Rating.
  • Driving Licence.
