About the Role
Our client, a vibrant non-profit organization focused on empowering young people in the Eastern Cape , is seeking a dynamic and inspiring Youth Empowerment Coordinator . This role is crucial for developing and delivering programs that foster skills, confidence, and opportunities for youth in and around East London . Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage youth empowerment programs and activities in East London .
- Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and mentorship opportunities for young people.
- Develop engaging content and resources tailored to the needs and interests of youth.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with youth participants, community stakeholders, and partner organizations.
- Coordinate outreach efforts to attract and engage young people in program activities.
- Monitor participant progress and program outcomes, providing support and guidance.
- Organize events, campaigns, and activities that promote youth leadership and development.
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all participants.
- Maintain accurate records of program activities, attendance, and participant feedback.
- Collaborate with the team to continuously improve program offerings and impact.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Youth Development, Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working with youth in a program coordination or facilitation role.
- Proven experience in developing and delivering youth-focused programs or activities.
- Strong understanding of youth development principles and challenges.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to engage effectively with diverse groups of young people.
- Creative and innovative thinking to develop engaging program content.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- A genuine passion for empowering youth and making a difference in East London .
