About the Role
Our client, a significant player in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) distribution network, is seeking a reliable and diligent Warehouse Operative to manage inventory and ensure smooth logistical operations from their facility in Queenstown, Eastern Cape. This role is vital for maintaining the efficient flow of goods, from receiving and stocking to order picking and dispatch. You will be an integral part of the supply chain, ensuring accurate inventory management and timely fulfillment of orders for a wide range of consumer products, contributing to the operational success of our client in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and accurately record incoming inventory, ensuring proper storage.
- Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for shipment in an efficient and accurate manner.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely and effectively.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the warehouse.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and assist in reconciling discrepancies.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding safety and operational standards.
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a warehouse or logistics environment is advantageous.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of inventory management principles.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar software is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- A valid driver's license and forklift certification are highly desirable.
