About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Trade Finance Specialist to join their international trade department in East London . This role requires a deep understanding of international trade transactions, instruments, and regulations to facilitate smooth and secure global commerce for the bank's clients. You will be responsible for processing trade finance transactions, managing risks associated with international trade, and providing expert advice to clients on trade finance solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for a specialist to leverage their expertise in a key operational role within a prominent financial institution.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and manage various trade finance instruments, including letters of credit, documentary collections, and bank guarantees.
- Assess and mitigate risks associated with international trade transactions, including country, currency, and counterparty risk.
- Advise clients on trade finance solutions to optimize their import and export operations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant international trade regulations, sanctions, and anti-money laundering (AML) requirements.
- Liaise with correspondent banks, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure timely execution of transactions.
- Monitor market developments and regulatory changes impacting trade finance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, International Business, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in trade finance operations or a related banking role.
- In-depth knowledge of international trade finance instruments and practices (e.g., UCP 600, ISBP).
- Understanding of international trade regulations, sanctions, and AML/KYC requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and stakeholder interaction.
