About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and analytical Sports Data Scientist to join their hybrid team. This role is at the forefront of leveraging advanced data analytics and machine learning to unlock insights within the sports domain, driving performance improvements for athletes and strategic advantages for teams. You will be responsible for collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and interpreting complex datasets related to player performance, game strategy, and fan engagement. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy predictive models to analyze athlete performance, identify key performance indicators, and optimize training regimens.
- Utilize advanced statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to extract meaningful insights from large and complex sports datasets.
- Collaborate with coaches, analysts, and management to understand their data needs and translate them into analytical projects.
- Design and build dashboards and reports to visualize data and communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and sports analytics, applying new methodologies to solve unique challenges.
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Proven experience as a Data Scientist , with a strong portfolio demonstrating successful projects.
- Expertise in programming languages such as Python or R, and proficiency with SQL and big data technologies.
- Solid understanding of machine learning techniques, statistical modeling, and data mining principles.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to present complex findings clearly in both remote and in-person settings.
