About the Role
Our client, a leading national distributor, is seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations Supervisor to oversee daily activities at their key distribution hub in Randburg, Gauteng . This role is critical for ensuring the efficient and safe handling of goods, managing a team of warehouse operatives, and maintaining high standards of inventory accuracy and operational flow. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, a deep understanding of warehouse processes, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct the work of warehouse staff, including receiving, stocking, order fulfillment, and shipping teams.
- Ensure efficient operation of all warehouse processes to meet daily targets.
- Monitor inventory levels and accuracy through regular cycle counts and system checks.
- Implement and enforce all health and safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
- Manage the allocation of resources, including staff and equipment, to optimize productivity.
- Train and develop warehouse personnel, providing guidance and performance feedback.
- Address operational issues and employee concerns promptly and effectively.
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and security of the warehouse facility.
- Collaborate with Warehouse Management on operational improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
- Prepare shift reports detailing productivity, inventory status, and any incidents.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or in a similar leadership role within a warehouse environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams effectively.
- Solid understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and WMS.
- Knowledge of health and safety best practices in a warehouse setting.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to operational demands.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management software and basic computer applications.
- Must be physically capable of performing warehouse duties as required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Residing in or willing to relocate to the Randburg area.
