About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent and experienced Telecoms Network Administrator to manage and maintain their network infrastructure in Randburg , Gauteng . This role is critical for ensuring the smooth operation, security, and reliability of the company's telecommunications systems. You will be responsible for system monitoring, troubleshooting, user support, and implementing network upgrades. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and possesses strong technical skills in network administration, contributing to a stable and efficient network environment for all users.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain telecom network hardware and software.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity and equipment issues.
- Implement and manage network security measures, including firewalls and VPNs.
- Provide technical support to end-users for telecommunications services.
- Perform regular network backups and disaster recovery planning.
- Manage user accounts and access permissions within the network environment.
Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in network administration , specifically within a telecom environment.
- Proficiency with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and common network operating systems.
- Experience with PBX systems and VoIP technology is highly desirable.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
