About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Subsurface Geologist to join their remote team, supporting exploration and development projects near Randburg . This role focuses on interpreting geological data to understand subsurface structures, identify potential hydrocarbon reservoirs, and guide drilling operations. You will utilize advanced geological modeling software and collaborate virtually with multidisciplinary teams to contribute to the company's exploration success. Key Responsibilities
- Integrate and interpret geological, geophysical, and petrophysical data to build subsurface models.
- Identify and evaluate potential hydrocarbon plays and prospects.
- Develop detailed geological interpretations for exploration and development wells.
- Prepare geological reports, presentations, and maps to communicate findings and recommendations.
- Collaborate effectively with reservoir engineers, geophysicists, and drilling engineers in a virtual setting.
- Monitor wellsite geological operations and provide remote support during drilling campaigns.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Geology or Earth Sciences with a specialization in petroleum geology.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in subsurface geology, with a strong focus on exploration or field development.
- Proficiency with geological modeling software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite, GeoGraphix).
- Solid understanding of structural geology, stratigraphy, sedimentology, and petrophysics.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong remote communication and collaboration abilities are essential for this role.
