Our client is looking for a skilled Subsurface Analyst to join their technical team, with a hybrid work arrangement based in Randburg, Gauteng . This role involves analyzing various subsurface data sets, including geological, geophysical, and engineering data, to support exploration and production activities. You will work closely with geoscientists and engineers to evaluate play concepts, assess reservoir potential, and optimize field development strategies. The hybrid model allows for focused work from home and collaborative team sessions in the office, fostering both individual contribution and team synergy. Your analytical skills will be key to unlocking the value of our subsurface assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Integrate and interpret geological, geophysical, and engineering data for subsurface evaluation.
- Assist in the development of subsurface models and visualizations.
- Support reserve and resource estimation processes.
- Conduct data quality control and identify data gaps.
- Prepare technical summaries and presentations for internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to the technical evaluation of new opportunities and existing assets.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Geoscience, Geology, Geophysics, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in a subsurface analysis or related role within the oil and gas industry .
- Proficiency with subsurface data analysis and visualization software.
- Strong understanding of geological principles and exploration/production workflows.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills, with experience working in both office and remote settings .
