About the Role
Our client, a fast-growing technology firm, is looking for an adept Strategic Sourcing Manager to join their team in Randburg, Gauteng, ZA . This role is critical for identifying, evaluating, and developing strategic supplier partnerships to support the company's expanding product lines and service offerings. The Strategic Sourcing Manager will be responsible for driving cost savings, mitigating supply chain risks, and ensuring the quality and innovation of sourced materials and services. You will be at the forefront of developing relationships with key global and local suppliers, influencing product development through strategic sourcing insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive strategic sourcing plans for key spend categories.
- Identify, assess, and onboard new suppliers, ensuring alignment with company quality and ethical standards.
- Lead complex negotiations with suppliers to achieve best-in-class pricing, terms, and conditions.
- Manage supplier performance through regular reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Analyze market intelligence and category trends to inform sourcing strategies and identify opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with R&D, engineering, and operations teams to understand product requirements and supply chain needs.
- Mitigate supply chain risks through proactive supplier diversification and contingency planning.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders across various departments.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant procurement policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and present sourcing strategy proposals and performance reports to senior leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- An MBA is a plus.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful sourcing strategies that deliver significant cost savings.
- Expertise in negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with proficiency in data analysis tools.
- Experience with global sourcing and managing international suppliers.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and e-sourcing tools.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Must be fluent in English.
