About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented and ambitious Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in managing the kitchen operations of their upscale restaurant in Randburg . This role is critical in ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality dishes and maintaining impeccable kitchen standards. You will be involved in menu creation, staff supervision, inventory management, and ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations, playing a key role in the culinary success of the establishment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
- Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff, providing training and guidance on culinary techniques and standards.
- Ensure the highest standards of food quality, taste, and presentation for all dishes served.
- Manage inventory, control food costs, and assist with purchasing and receiving of supplies.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and hygiene protocols.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu development, specials, and event preparation in Randburg .
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong experience as a Senior Chef de Partie in a reputable establishment.
- Solid understanding of culinary techniques, food preparation, and presentation.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen management best practices.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Culinary qualification or equivalent industry experience preferred.
