About the Role
Our client, a leading diversified mining group, is seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Senior Mining Operations Manager to oversee and lead their operational excellence initiatives. Based in Randburg, Gauteng, this senior leadership role is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and profitable execution of all mining activities across multiple sites. You will drive operational strategy, manage budgets, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and lead a team of experienced mining professionals. The ideal candidate possesses a strong combination of technical expertise, leadership acumen, and a deep understanding of mining operations management. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic operational plans to achieve production, cost, and safety targets.
- Oversee all aspects of mining operations, including planning, execution, and monitoring.

- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, environmental, and community regulations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of operational managers, engineers, and supervisors.

Requirements
- BSc or BEng in Mining Engineering or a related field. A postgraduate qualification or MBA is advantageous.
- A minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in mining operations management, with a proven track record in leading complex operations.
- Extensive experience in both open-pit and underground mining environments.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage large teams.
- Strong understanding of mine planning, scheduling, production, and cost control principles.
- Excellent financial acumen and experience in managing significant operational budgets.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant mining legislation and safety regulations.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to implement change management initiatives successfully.
- Experience working in the Gauteng region is highly preferred.
