About the Role
Our client is seeking a strategic and experienced Senior Information Security Manager to lead their cybersecurity initiatives from a remote capacity. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the organization's information security program to protect against cyber threats. You will lead a team of security professionals, drive security strategy, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of modern cybersecurity threats and defenses, contributing to a secure and resilient operational environment for the entire company, championing a proactive security culture globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the overall information security strategy and roadmap.
- Lead and mentor the information security team, fostering professional growth and high performance.
- Oversee the implementation and management of security controls, policies, and procedures.
- Manage the incident response process, including investigation, containment, and recovery.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., POPIA, GDPR).
- Conduct risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and implement mitigation plans.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in information security, with at least 3 years in a management role.
- Proven experience in developing and managing enterprise-level security programs.
- In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks , risk management, and compliance.
- Strong understanding of network security, application security, cloud security, and data protection.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
