About the Role
Our client is seeking a visionary and highly skilled Senior Industrial Designer to join their innovative product development team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute your expertise from anywhere. You will be instrumental in shaping the aesthetic and functional design of new products, from concept through to production. This role requires a deep understanding of user-centered design principles, material science, and manufacturing processes, combined with exceptional creative talent. You will collaborate closely with engineering, marketing, and product management teams to bring groundbreaking products to market, driving the company's reputation for cutting-edge design and functionality.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptualization and development of innovative product designs, from initial sketches to detailed 3D models and prototypes.
- Conduct user research, market analysis, and competitive benchmarking to inform design decisions.
- Create compelling visual presentations and design proposals to communicate concepts to stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers to ensure designs are feasible for manufacturing and meet performance requirements.
- Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes to achieve desired aesthetics, functionality, and cost targets.
- Stay abreast of emerging design trends, technologies, and materials in the industry.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Design or a related field.
- Significant professional experience (typically 7+ years) as an Industrial Designer , with a strong portfolio showcasing innovative product development.
- Expert proficiency in industry-standard design software such as SolidWorks, Rhino, Keyshot, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Deep understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, CNC machining, 3D printing).
- Excellent understanding of ergonomics, user-centered design, and human factors.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale effectively.
