About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to join their team in Randburg . This is an on-site role focused on designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security solutions to protect the organization's digital assets. You will take a lead role in safeguarding systems against sophisticated threats, ensuring compliance, and driving security best practices across the IT landscape. This position requires a deep technical understanding and a proactive approach to cybersecurity challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage enterprise-level security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and SIEM platforms.
- Lead threat modeling and risk assessment initiatives to proactively identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Develop and implement security automation solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
- Oversee security incident response, including forensic analysis and recovery operations.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to embed security into the software development lifecycle.
- Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and cybersecurity technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field; Master's preferred.
- 6+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering and architecture.
- Expertise in network security, cloud security (AWS, Azure), and endpoint security.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for security automation.
- Strong understanding of cryptography, secure coding practices, and incident response frameworks.
- Relevant certifications like CISSP, CISM, or OSCP are highly advantageous.
