About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Construction Quantity Surveyor to manage all costs relating to construction projects in Randburg . This vital role ensures that projects remain within budget while maintaining the required quality standards. You will be responsible for cost estimation, financial forecasting, contract administration, and value engineering. The position requires a strong understanding of construction economics and excellent negotiation skills, with a hybrid work arrangement that accommodates both site visits and remote financial management. The ideal candidate is analytical, proactive, and adept at managing financial aspects of complex construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and Bills of Quantities (BoQ) for construction projects.
- Manage all aspects of contract administration, including claims, variations, and payments.
- Monitor project expenditure, forecast costs, and report on financial performance to management.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed projects.
- Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing.
- Perform value engineering to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
- Professional registration with SACQSP or equivalent is preferred.
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software and MS Office Suite.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., JBCC, FIDIC) and procurement processes.
- Excellent analytical, financial management, and negotiation skills.
