About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly organized and experienced Senior Automotive Parts Manager to lead their bustling parts department in Randburg . This leadership position requires a strategic approach to inventory management, supplier relations, and team supervision. You will be responsible for ensuring optimal stock levels, accurate forecasting, efficient ordering processes, and providing exceptional service to both internal technicians and external customers. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the automotive parts landscape, strong negotiation skills, and a proven ability to manage a profitable and efficient parts operation, contributing significantly to the overall success of the dealership or service center.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic inventory management plans to optimize stock levels and minimize carrying costs.
- Manage all aspects of parts procurement, including supplier negotiation, order placement, and receiving.
- Supervise and train parts department staff, ensuring high levels of performance and customer service.
- Monitor parts sales, analyze trends, and forecast future demand to ensure adequate stock availability.
- Implement and maintain effective inventory control systems and processes.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
- Manage the parts department budget and contribute to profitability targets.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in automotive parts management.
- Extensive knowledge of OEM and aftermarket automotive parts for a variety of makes and models.
- Proven ability to manage large inventories and complex supply chains.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in dealership management systems (DMS) or similar inventory management software.
- Demonstrated success in improving parts department profitability and efficiency.
