About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior AI Platform Engineer to join their innovative team in Randburg . This hybrid role is crucial for building and maintaining the robust infrastructure that powers their advanced AI and machine learning initiatives. You will be responsible for developing scalable, reliable, and efficient platforms that enable data scientists and ML engineers to build, train, and deploy models seamlessly. The ideal candidate has a strong background in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and MLOps, coupled with a passion for enabling AI innovation in a dynamic, hybrid work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable AI/ML platforms and infrastructure on cloud environments.
- Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines for machine learning models and applications.
- Implement and optimize tools for data management, model training, and model deployment.
- Ensure the reliability, security, and performance of the AI platform.
- Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to understand their needs and provide effective solutions.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on platform engineering or infrastructure.
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, or Java.
- Familiarity with MLOps principles and tools, and experience supporting ML workflows.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and experience working in a hybrid team structure.
