About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Remote Mining Data Analyst to join their forward-thinking team. This role focuses on extracting insights from vast amounts of mining data to drive operational efficiency, cost reduction, and improved safety performance. You will work with a global team, transforming raw data into actionable intelligence that supports strategic decision-making across various mining disciplines. Key Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and organize large datasets from various mining operations (e.g., production, geological, safety, equipment maintenance).
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) for mining operations.
- Perform statistical analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in mining data.
- Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and operations managers to understand data needs and provide analytical support.
- Develop predictive models to forecast operational outcomes or identify potential risks.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of data governance standards within the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mining Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Data Analyst, preferably in the mining industry .
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as Python (Pandas, NumPy), R, SQL, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Strong understanding of statistical methods and machine learning techniques.
- Experience working with cloud-based data platforms is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting complex data findings to non-technical stakeholders.
