About the Role
Our client, a forward-thinking organization in the financial services sector, is seeking an experienced IT & Systems Implementation Project Manager to join their dynamic team in Randburg, Gauteng. This role is critical for the successful planning and execution of technology projects, including software implementations, system upgrades, and infrastructure enhancements. You will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring that IT projects align with business objectives and are delivered on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of IT and systems implementation projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirements.
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenditures and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
- Coordinate and manage project teams, including internal IT staff, external consultants, and software vendors.
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, developing and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration among all project stakeholders, including business users and technical teams.
- Oversee the implementation of new systems and technologies, ensuring successful integration and user adoption.
- Track project progress, monitor performance metrics, and provide regular status reports to senior management.
- Ensure projects comply with IT policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage vendor contracts and performance to ensure delivery of agreed-upon services and products.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in project management, with at least 3 years focused on IT and systems implementation projects.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering software, infrastructure, or technology projects.
- Strong understanding of IT project methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and best practices.
- Experience with IT infrastructure, software development lifecycles, and system integration.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana).
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage stakeholder expectations and facilitate effective communication across technical and business teams.
- Experience working with third-party vendors and managing contracts.
