About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Procurement Officer to join their team in Randburg. This hybrid role allows for a dynamic work environment, combining office-based collaboration with the flexibility of remote work. You will be instrumental in managing the acquisition of goods and services, focusing on achieving cost-effectiveness and ensuring supply chain efficiency. Your responsibilities will include sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. Key Responsibilities
- Source and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiating terms and pricing to achieve best value.
- Manage day-to-day procurement activities, including the creation and processing of purchase orders.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, monitoring their performance and addressing any issues.
- Conduct market research to identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure competitive pricing.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide timely procurement support.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a procurement or purchasing role.
- Demonstrated experience in negotiation and supplier relationship management.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, essential for a hybrid role.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is preferred.
