About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Network Infrastructure Technician to support their operations in Randburg . This role is crucial for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the company's network infrastructure, including cabling, switches, routers, and wireless access points. You will ensure the reliability, performance, and security of network systems that are fundamental to business operations within Gauteng . The successful candidate will be technically adept and committed to upholding high standards in the Installation & Maintenance of critical IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, and test network cabling (copper and fiber optic).
- Configure and manage network devices such as switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting of network hardware and software.
- Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
- Document network configurations, topology, and asset inventory accurately.
- Collaborate with the IT team to implement network security best practices and policies.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Network Infrastructure Technician or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, Ethernet, VLANs, VPNs).
- Hands-on experience with network hardware installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with network cabling standards and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment in Randburg .
