About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Mechanical Project Engineer to manage key engineering projects from conception to completion in their Randburg facility. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and project management skills to ensure projects are delivered successfully, meeting all technical, budgetary, and schedule requirements. You will coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, oversee design phases, and ensure the successful implementation of mechanical solutions. This is an ideal position for an engineer eager to take ownership of challenging projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of mechanical engineering projects, ensuring alignment with project goals and company objectives.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, risk assessment, and budget management.
- Oversee the design, procurement, and installation of mechanical equipment and systems.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and site operations, to ensure smooth project execution.
- Conduct regular project reviews, site inspections, and progress reporting to stakeholders.
- Ensure all projects comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering project management or related roles.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana) and CAD tools.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, industrial processes, and equipment installation.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a complex environment.
