About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join their operational team in Randburg . This role is critical for the upkeep and repair of mechanical equipment and machinery across various facilities. You will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and resolving mechanical issues, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring all equipment operates safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate possesses strong practical skills in fitting, machining, and the assembly/disassembly of mechanical components. This hands‑on position requires a proactive approach to maintenance and a commitment to upholding high standards of operational integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment and systems.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults, including gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, and hydraulic systems.
- Fabricate, fit, and assemble components as required for repairs and upgrades.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company procedures.
Requirements
- Qualified Mechanical Fitter with a recognized trade qualification.
- Demonstrable experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial or plant environment.
- Proficiency in using fitting, machining, and hand tools.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems and perform effective repairs.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures relevant to mechanical work in Randburg .
