About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Specialist to join their team in Randburg . This role focuses on the detailed design and development of mechanical components and systems, requiring a strong command of CAD software and an understanding of manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for translating concepts into practical, manufacturable designs, ensuring they meet performance and cost targets. Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings for mechanical parts and assemblies.
- Develop technical specifications and documentation required for manufacturing and procurement.
- Collaborate with engineers and production teams to ensure designs are feasible and optimized for manufacturing.
- Perform basic engineering calculations and analyses to support design decisions.
- Assist in the testing and validation of prototypes and new designs.
- Maintain and organize design files and documentation according to company standards.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Designer or Drafter, with a strong portfolio.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes like machining, injection molding, and fabrication.
- Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical documentation.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
