About the Role
Our client is seeking a strategic and experienced Logistics and Distribution Manager to lead their operations in the Randburg area. This senior role is responsible for the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the company's logistics and distribution network, encompassing warehousing, transportation, and inventory management. You will develop and implement strategies to optimize supply chain performance, reduce costs, and ensure timely delivery of products to customers. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of logistics best practices, and a proven track record of managing complex distribution operations within the Gauteng province.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute logistics and distribution strategies to align with company objectives.
- Oversee all warehouse operations, ensuring efficient inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping processes.
- Manage transportation logistics, including carrier selection, contract negotiation, and route optimization.
- Implement and maintain robust safety and compliance programs across all logistics functions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the logistics and warehouse teams to foster a high‑performance culture.
- Analyze logistics data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost savings and service improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in logistics and distribution management.
- Proven expertise in warehouse operations, transportation management, and inventory control.
- Strong leadership, strategic planning, and analytical skills.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
- Excellent understanding of supply chain principles and best practices.
