Our client is searching for a highly skilled Lead Chemical Process Engineer to spearhead process design and development initiatives from a remote location, supporting their facilities near Randburg. This leadership role involves guiding project teams, developing innovative process solutions, and ensuring the technical integrity of engineering designs. You will play a crucial part in conceptualizing, designing, and implementing complex chemical processes for new projects and existing plant expansions. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptualization, design, and development of new chemical processes and modifications to existing ones.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of process engineers.
- Oversee the creation of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, and equipment specifications.
- Conduct rigorous process simulations, feasibility studies, and economic evaluations.
- Ensure all designs comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with project management, operations, and construction teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in chemical process design and project execution.
- Demonstrated experience in leading engineering teams and managing complex projects.
- Expert proficiency in process simulation software and design tools.
- Strong understanding of relevant industry codes, standards, and best practices.
