About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced HVAC Mechanical Engineer to join their building services team in Randburg . This role focuses on the design, implementation, and oversight of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for commercial and industrial projects. You will be responsible for ensuring optimal thermal comfort, indoor air quality, and energy efficiency in the built environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of HVAC principles, relevant codes, and energy-efficient design strategies, working collaboratively with architects and other engineering disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and specify HVAC systems, including air handling units, chillers, boilers, and distribution networks.
- Conduct load calculations, energy modeling, and system performance analysis.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications using CAD software .
- Ensure HVAC system designs comply with relevant building codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., SANS).
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of HVAC systems, ensuring proper functionality and performance.
- Collaborate with architects, project managers, and clients to meet project objectives and client needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in HVAC.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC system design and project execution.
- Proficiency in HVAC design software (e.g., HAP, Revit MEP, AutoCAD).
