About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Energy Storage Systems Specialist to join their innovative team in Randburg . This role is central to the design, implementation, and optimization of cutting-edge energy storage solutions, playing a key part in advancing the integration of renewable energy sources and enhancing grid stability. You will work on a variety of projects, from utility-scale batteries to distributed energy storage systems, collaborating with engineers, project managers, and clients to deliver reliable and efficient solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Design and specify energy storage systems (ESS), including battery technologies, inverters, and control systems.
- Develop technical specifications, performance requirements, and testing protocols for ESS projects.
- Analyze grid requirements, load profiles, and renewable energy generation to optimize ESS sizing and operation.
- Oversee the installation, commissioning, and integration of ESS with existing energy infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide ongoing support for deployed energy storage solutions.
- Stay current with advancements in battery technology , power electronics, and grid integration standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in energy storage systems or power systems engineering.
- Proven experience with battery chemistries (e.g., Lithium-ion), inverters, and energy management systems (EMS).
- Strong understanding of grid interconnection requirements and power system dynamics.
- Proficiency in simulation and modeling tools relevant to energy systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills.
