About the Role

Our client, a leading online retailer, is seeking an experienced and visionary E-commerce Social Media & Content Lead to guide their digital communication efforts in Randburg . This senior role is responsible for developing and executing a cohesive social media and content strategy that drives brand awareness, customer engagement, and revenue growth for their e-commerce business. You will lead a small team, manage content creation pipelines, and oversee the strategic direction across all relevant social platforms. This hybrid position offers a blend of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility, empowering you to shape our client's digital narrative.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive social media and content strategy aligned with e-commerce objectives and brand guidelines.
  • Lead the creation of high-impact, engaging content across various formats (visuals, video, copy) for platforms like Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and others.
  • Oversee the social media content calendar, ensuring a consistent brand voice and timely publication of posts.
  • Manage and optimize paid social media advertising campaigns to achieve target ROI and KPIs.
  • Analyze performance data, identify trends, and provide strategic recommendations for continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Mentor and guide junior members of the social media and content team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience (5+ years) in social media management and content strategy, with a strong focus on e-commerce.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, managing teams or projects effectively.
  • Proficiency in content creation tools, social media management platforms, and analytics suites.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, copywriting, and visual storytelling skills.
  • Deep understanding of social media algorithms, advertising best practices, and performance marketing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated expertise.
