About the Role Our client is seeking a dedicated Chemical Project Engineer to manage and execute various capital projects within their operations in Randburg . This role is essential for the successful planning, design, and implementation of new plant facilities and process upgrades. You will work closely with internal teams and external contractors to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate is a strong project manager with a solid background in chemical engineering and a proven ability to lead complex projects from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all phases of chemical engineering projects, from conceptual design to commissioning.
- Develop project scope, budgets, and detailed schedules, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Oversee the procurement of equipment and services, and manage contractor performance.
- Ensure all project designs and installations comply with relevant safety, health, and environmental regulations .
- Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams to ensure smooth project handover and startup.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering .
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project engineering or project management within the chemical industry.
- Proven experience in managing capital projects from initiation to closure.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
- Familiarity with process design, P&IDs, and equipment specifications.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
