About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and vigilant Aviation Security Supervisor to oversee security operations at facilities in Randburg. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety and security of passengers, staff, cargo, and assets within the aviation environment. You will lead a team of security personnel, implement security protocols, conduct patrols, and respond to security incidents. The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of aviation security regulations, and the ability to maintain a secure and orderly environment, contributing to the overall safety and operational integrity of the airport and related facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage a team of aviation security officers, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback.
- Develop, implement, and enforce security policies and procedures in accordance with national and international aviation security regulations.
- Conduct regular security patrols, inspections, and risk assessments of airport facilities, aircraft, and operational areas.
- Monitor surveillance systems and access control points to detect and prevent unauthorized access or security breaches.
- Respond promptly and effectively to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies, taking appropriate actions to mitigate risks.
- Liaise with local law enforcement agencies, airport authorities, and other stakeholders on security matters.
Requirements
- Proven experience in aviation security, with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of aviation security laws, regulations (e.g., ICAO, SACAA standards), and best practices.
- Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency in using security equipment, surveillance systems, and access control technologies.
- A clean criminal record and the ability to pass security background checks and obtain necessary clearances.
