About the Role
Our client seeks motivated individuals for an Apprentice Instrumentation Technician role based in Randburg . This apprenticeship focuses on the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of measuring and control instruments used in industrial processes. You will learn to work with a variety of instruments, including sensors, transmitters, controllers, and valves, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of industrial operations. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior technicians in the installation and commissioning of instrumentation systems.
- Learn to calibrate and maintain various types of process instruments (e.g., pressure, temperature, flow, level).
- Perform routine inspections and diagnostic tests on instrumentation hardware and software.
- Assist in troubleshooting and repairing faulty instrumentation equipment.
- Read and interpret instrumentation diagrams, loop sheets, and P&IDs.
- Follow strict safety protocols, especially when working with live equipment or in hazardous areas.
Requirements
- A strong aptitude for electronics, mechanics, and technology.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals and drawings.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent, with a focus on physical science and mathematics.
