About the Role
Our client is seeking a creative and experienced Senior Retail Design Architect to join their vibrant studio in **EastLondon,EasternCape**. This role focuses on creating innovative and engaging retail environments that enhance customer experience and drive brand success. You will be responsible for the design and execution of retail spaces, from concept development to the final build, working with a diverse range of clients in the retail sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio of retail design projects, a keen understanding of branding, consumer behavior, and the latest retail design trends. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural design of retail spaces, including shops, malls, and showrooms.
- Develop innovative concepts that align with client brand identity and target market.
- Create detailed architectural plans, elevations, sections, and 3D visualizations.
- Collaborate with marketing teams, visual merchandisers, and contractors.
- Ensure designs comply with accessibility standards, safety regulations, and local building codes.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and client expectations.
- Conduct site analyses and feasibility studies for retail developments.
- Oversee construction administration and quality control during the build phase.
- Present design proposals and concepts effectively to clients.
- Mentor junior designers and contribute to the firm's creative output.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience, with a significant focus on retail design.
- Proven track record in designing successful and impactful retail environments.
- Proficiency in architectural software such as Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong understanding of retail trends, consumer psychology, and brand storytelling.
- Experience in managing client relationships and project teams in **EastLondon**.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- A compelling portfolio showcasing diverse retail design projects.
- Professional registration with SACAP is required.
