About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly experienced Senior Instrumentation Engineer to lead their instrumentation and control projects in East London . This role involves the design, implementation, and optimization of sophisticated measurement and control systems for industrial processes. You will provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and ensure the highest standards of accuracy, reliability, and safety in all instrumentation applications. The ideal candidate has a deep expertise in process automation, sensor technology, and advanced control strategies, contributing significantly to the operational excellence of our client's facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and specification of instrumentation for complex industrial processes, including P&IDs and loop diagrams.
- Oversee the selection, installation, calibration, and maintenance of various instruments (e.g., flow meters, pressure transmitters, control valves).
- Develop and implement advanced control strategies and automation solutions.
- Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting for instrumentation and control systems.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and hazardous area requirements.
- Mentor and guide junior instrumentation engineers and technicians.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in instrumentation and control engineering within industrial settings.
- Expert knowledge of instrumentation hardware, software, and control system architectures (DCS/PLC).
- Proficiency in simulation, calibration techniques, and troubleshooting complex instrumentation issues.
- Strong understanding of process safety management (PSM) and hazardous area classifications.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
