About the Role
Our client, a reputable aviation organization, is seeking an experienced Senior Aviation Compliance Officer to join their team in East London, Eastern Cape, ZA . This hybrid role offers the flexibility of working both remotely and from the office. You will be responsible for ensuring adherence to all applicable aviation laws, regulations, and company policies. This crucial position involves developing and implementing compliance programs, conducting audits, and providing guidance to operational teams. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of aviation regulatory frameworks and a meticulous approach to documentation and oversight. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive aviation compliance programs.
- Monitor changes in aviation regulations and ensure timely updates to company policies and procedures.
- Conduct internal audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
- Investigate compliance deviations, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare and submit compliance reports to regulatory authorities and internal management.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on aviation compliance matters.
- Liaise with external regulatory bodies (e.g., SACAA) on compliance issues.
- Manage the documentation and record-keeping for compliance activities.
- Advise senior management on compliance risks and strategies.
- Stay informed about best practices in aviation compliance and safety management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in aviation compliance, regulatory affairs, or a related role.
- Thorough knowledge of South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) regulations and other relevant aviation laws.
- Experience with conducting audits and risk assessments.
- Strong understanding of aviation operations and safety management systems.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in report writing and documentation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively in a hybrid team.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to East London, Eastern Cape, ZA .
