About the Role
Our client, a leading architectural consultancy with a strong presence in the Eastern Cape , is seeking a highly experienced Senior Architectural Project Lead for their East London office.
This pivotal role involves overseeing the successful execution of diverse architectural projects, from initial client engagement and concept development through to construction completion. The Project Lead will be responsible for managing project teams, ensuring design quality, budget adherence, and timely delivery. This is an excellent opportunity to take on significant project responsibility within a reputable firm, contributing to the built environment of East London and surrounding regions. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a comprehensive understanding of project management principles, and a proven ability to deliver complex architectural projects successfully.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage multiple architectural projects simultaneously, from inception to completion.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Oversee the design process, ensuring architectural integrity and alignment with project objectives.
- Coordinate with engineering disciplines and other consultants to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Conduct site inspections and provide technical guidance during construction.
- Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, regulations, and quality standards.
- Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Review project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Contribute to the firm's strategic planning and business development initiatives.
Requirements
- A professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) from a recognized institution.
- Professional registration with SACAP is mandatory.
- A minimum of 10 years of post-qualification experience in architectural practice, with significant project leadership experience.
- Demonstrated success in managing and delivering large-scale and complex architectural projects.
- Proficiency in architectural design and project management software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, MS Project).
- Strong understanding of construction processes, contract administration, and building regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and client management skills.
- Ability to manage diverse project teams and stakeholders effectively.
- Experience in the Eastern Cape architectural and construction market is advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
