About the Role
Our client, a prominent firm specializing in architectural visualization and digital media, is seeking a talented Senior 3D Environment Artist for their hybrid team. Based in East London, Eastern Cape , this role involves crafting highly realistic and visually compelling 3D environments that bring architectural designs to life. You will be instrumental in developing detailed models, textures, and lighting for marketing materials, virtual tours, and client presentations. The ideal candidate possesses a strong artistic eye, a deep understanding of 3D modeling and texturing techniques, and proficiency in relevant software. Key Responsibilities
- Model and texture high-quality 3D assets and environments based on architectural plans and references.
- Create realistic lighting setups to enhance the visual appeal and atmosphere of architectural scenes.
- Optimize 3D models and scenes for efficient rendering and real-time applications (e.g., VR).
- Collaborate with architectural designers and project managers to understand project requirements and visual goals.
- Develop and maintain a library of reusable 3D assets and materials.
- Ensure consistency in style and quality across all environmental assets.
- Stay current with the latest trends and technologies in 3D modeling, rendering, and architectural visualization.
- Provide guidance and feedback to junior artists on the team.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in 3D environment art, with a focus on architectural visualization or real-time environments.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling software such as 3ds Max, Maya, or Blender.
- Expertise in texturing using software like Substance Painter/Designer and Photoshop.
- Strong understanding of PBR workflows and material creation.
- Experience with real-time rendering engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity) is highly desirable.
- Excellent lighting and composition skills.
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings and concepts effectively.
- Strong portfolio showcasing realistic 3D environments and architectural scenes is essential.
