About the Role
Our client is searching for a creative and detail-oriented Retail Visual Merchandiser to join their team in East London, Eastern Cape . This role is critical in enhancing the store's appeal, driving customer engagement, and ultimately boosting sales through compelling visual displays. You will be responsible for creating and executing visual merchandising strategies that align with brand identity and seasonal campaigns. This position requires a strong aesthetic sense, a good understanding of retail dynamics, and the ability to translate creative concepts into attractive store environments in East London . The ideal candidate is passionate about design, trends, and creating impactful in-store experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement visual merchandising plans for the store, including window displays, in-store layouts, and product placement.
- Create visually appealing and engaging product displays that highlight key items and promotions.
- Ensure brand consistency across all visual merchandising efforts.
- Collaborate with the retail management team to align visual strategies with sales objectives.
- Source and manage props, fixtures, and signage required for displays.
- Stay updated on current visual merchandising trends and competitor activities.
- Train and guide store staff on maintaining visual standards.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of visual merchandising initiatives.
- Ensure all displays are neat, well-maintained, and safe.
- Manage visual merchandising budgets and procure necessary materials efficiently.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Visual Merchandiser in a retail setting (at least 3 years).
- Strong portfolio showcasing creative visual display concepts and execution.
- Excellent understanding of design principles, color theory, and spatial arrangement.
- Knowledge of current fashion and retail trends.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and manage projects from conception to completion.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including some evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Keen eye for detail and a passion for aesthetics.
- Experience with retail fixture planning and store layout optimization.
