About the Role
Our client is seeking a forward-thinking Renewable Energy Electrical Engineer to join their innovative team in East London . This role focuses on the design, integration, and optimization of electrical systems for renewable energy projects, including solar and wind farms. You will play a key part in developing sustainable energy solutions and ensuring the efficient performance of these systems. The position requires a blend of technical expertise in power systems and a passion for green energy technologies, operating within a hybrid model that balances office-based collaboration with remote analysis and design.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems for renewable energy generation facilities, including solar PV and wind turbines.
- Perform power system studies, including grid interconnection analysis, load flow, and protection studies.
- Select and specify electrical equipment such as inverters, transformers, switchgear, and cabling.
- Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes, standards, and renewable energy regulations.
- Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and other stakeholders to oversee installation and commissioning.
- Troubleshoot and optimize the performance of existing renewable energy electrical systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on Power Systems or Renewable Energy.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 2 years focused on renewable energy projects.
- Proficiency in power system simulation software (e.g., PVSyst, ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory).
- Strong understanding of grid interconnection requirements and energy storage systems.
- Experience with AC/DC converters and power electronics is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for a hybrid work environment.
