About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled Remote Industrial Engineer to specialize in logistics and distribution , supporting their operations that are primarily based in East London . This fully remote position is crucial for designing, analyzing, and optimizing the movement of goods, warehousing strategies, and transportation networks to maximize efficiency and minimize costs. You will leverage advanced analytical tools and engineering principles to develop robust, scalable solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and optimize existing logistics and distribution networks, including warehouse layouts, material flow, and transportation routes.
- Develop and implement strategies for inventory management, order fulfillment, and network design to improve service levels and reduce costs.
- Utilize simulation and modeling tools to evaluate the performance of different logistical scenarios and propose enhancements.
- Collaborate with internal teams (procurement, manufacturing, sales) and external partners (carriers, 3PL providers) to ensure seamless operations.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics and distribution, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Implement Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies within the logistics function.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering , Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in logistics and distribution optimization .
- Proven expertise in supply chain modeling software, WMS, TMS, and data analytics tools.
- Strong understanding of warehousing operations, transportation management, and inventory control principles.
- Excellent remote communication, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and drive significant operational changes.
