About the Role
Our client, a cutting-edge architectural studio recognized for its innovative and computationally driven designs, is looking for a talented Parametric Design Architect to join their fully remote team. This role is for a forward-thinking individual who excels at leveraging algorithmic thinking and digital tools to explore complex forms, optimize designs, and generate unique architectural solutions. You will be instrumental in pushing the boundaries of design through advanced digital techniques, collaborating with design teams to bring ambitious concepts to life. As a remote-first position, we require a highly self-motivated individual with excellent digital collaboration skills and a proven ability to deliver complex digital models and workflows. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of computational design principles, scripting, and their application in architectural practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement parametric design strategies using software like Grasshopper, Dynamo, or similar tools.
- Create complex geometric forms and explore design variations through algorithmic processes.
- Automate design tasks and workflows to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with architects and designers to integrate parametric models into the overall design process.
- Optimize designs based on performance criteria, material constraints, or fabrication methods.
- Generate detailed documentation and digital assets from parametric models.
- Stay abreast of advancements in computational design, scripting, and digital fabrication.
- Explore new tools and techniques to enhance the design capabilities of the practice.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related design field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in architectural design, with at least 3 years focused on parametric and computational design.
- Expert proficiency in parametric modeling software (e.g., Grasshopper for Rhino, Dynamo for Revit).
- Strong understanding of scripting languages (e.g., Python, C#) is highly desirable.
- Experience with 3D modeling, rendering, and visualization tools.
- Knowledge of digital fabrication processes is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and algorithmic thinking skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for a remote work environment.
