About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Packaging Specialist to join their dynamic food and beverage manufacturing facility in East London . This role is crucial for ensuring that products are packaged efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all regulatory standards, maintaining product integrity and consumer appeal. You will be responsible for overseeing packaging lines, managing packaging materials, and ensuring that finished goods meet aesthetic and functional requirements. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of food safety regulations, packaging machinery, and quality control processes specific to the food industry. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor packaging machinery, ensuring efficient and safe operation.
- Perform quality checks on packaging materials and finished products to ensure compliance with standards.
- Manage inventory of packaging supplies, reordering as necessary to maintain production flow.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor issues with packaging equipment to minimize downtime.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP) and hygiene protocols.
- Collaborate with the production team to meet daily packaging targets and ensure product quality.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Packaging Specialist or Operator in a food and beverage manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with various types of packaging machinery (e.g., fillers, sealers, labelers).
- Understanding of food safety standards and GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices).
- Ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on packaging equipment.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are a plus.
