About the Role
Our client, a specialist in industrial automation and machinery, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join their hybrid team in East London . This role is crucial for designing, developing, and improving a range of industrial equipment, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and safety. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical components, sub-systems, and complete machines for industrial applications using advanced CAD software .
- Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOMs) for manufacturing.
- Perform mechanical analysis, including stress, fatigue, and kinematic analysis , to ensure design robustness.
- Collaborate with electrical and controls engineers to integrate mechanical designs with automation systems.
- Oversee prototype construction, testing, and validation, making necessary design modifications.
- Provide technical support for manufacturing and customer inquiries related to mechanical design.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design, with a focus on industrial machinery or automation equipment.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and experience with FEA tools .
- Strong understanding of material selection, manufacturing processes (machining, welding, fabrication), and GD&T .
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a hands-on approach to engineering challenges.
- Good communication skills for effective collaboration in a hybrid setting.
